Cancer Institute and Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences(CAMS), is located at the southeastern part of Beijing. It was built in 1958 and named after its location, Ritan Hospital, the Solar Altar, under the concern of late premier Zhou En-lai. It was moved to the present site and renamed in 1983. Cancer Institute & Hospital (CIH) is a national centre of advanced cancer research and treatment, which is also rated as the first place of cancer prevention and treatment in Asia in terms of scale. It is one of the WHO collaborative centres for Cancer Research in China and one of bases for drug clinical Trial of Food and Drug Administration of State (SFDA).
